Appliance Energy Usage Chart

In an effort to assist our members in evaluating the energy used and cost associated with housewares and appliances, UEC has developed the Household Energy Use Guide. This guide include typical household items such as clocks, sewing machines, hair dryers, fans, furnace, domestic pumps, heating & air conditioning, and appliances.
This guide lists common household items, their average wattage, the national average usage and the average cost to operate the item for a month or a year. The purpose is to illustrate how hour home uses electricity.
It should be emphasized that these are only national averages. Individual households can vary widely depending on the efforts made in each home to save money by conserving electricity.
