PNGC
Umatilla Electric Cooperative is one of 15 member-owner utilities with customers in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Utah
Nevada and Wyoming that makes up PNGC Power.
PNGC Power is a vital and influential participant in the electric utility industry. We were the first electric cooperative to obtain a power marketing license in 1996, which opened the door for us to purchase wholesale power and resell it to our members, other utilities and marketers.
We're committed to meeting our members' power needs and always look for new and better ways to serve our members and their customers. We do not speculate in the power market. While we make use of market opportunities, our responsibility is to meet our customers' load requirements first and foremost. We match loads and resources, hourly, using our depth of expertise and some of the most sophisticated tools in the energy industry. A robust forecasting and analytical capability allows us to appropriately protect our members' exposure to market fluctuations.
PNGC's primary services include:
- Power supply management
- Load aggregation
- Transmission management
The goal is for small cooperatives to realize economies of scale and take advantage of the same types of services and technical capabilities available to a large electric utility.
